Documentation

How to Use

  1. Enter your original text in the left textarea (red border)
  2. Enter your modified text in the right textarea (green border)
  3. Select your comparison method:
    • Compare by Chars: Highlights character-level differences
    • Compare by Words: Highlights word-level differences
    • Compare by Lines: Highlights line-level differences
  4. View the differences in the result section, where:
    • Red text indicates content that was removed
    • Green text indicates content that was added
    • Gray text indicates unchanged content
  5. Use the "Copy Result" button to copy the entire diff result to your clipboard
  6. Use "Clear All" to reset both text areas and the result
  7. Use "Load Example" to see how the tool works with sample texts

Tips for Better Results

  • For code comparison, use "Compare by Lines" for better readability
  • For prose or paragraph text, "Compare by Words" often provides more useful results
  • For precise character-level changes (like typos), use "Compare by Chars"
  • Very large texts may take longer to process, especially with character comparison
  • The tool preserves whitespace and line breaks in the comparison
